How can DKA help my company?
Since 1995, we've helped companies improve the way they bid on contracts, and we can do the same for your company. We can help you identify the "right" contract(s) to pursue and then increase your chances of winning it/them.

What is a Proposal?
A proposal answers the government's questions about who's their best choice to provide a service or goods to them.

What if we already have staff capable of preparing proposals?
Some of our existing clients do, too. Companies utilize us for a variety of reasons:

  • Some have never pursued the government marketplace and want some initial     guidance
  • Some have had a lot of success winning contracts with their own staff, but don't     have the time to prepare a particular proposal, and they trust outsourcing the work     to a group who knows what it takes to be successful
  • Some used to have a staff, but they find working with us is a more efficient way of     preparing their proposals, and they like that we do all the leg work everyday looking     for new opportunities at no cost to them

Do we have to pay if we don't win the contract?
There is always a cost involved in doing everything possible to win a contract--whether you hire us or do it yourself. A company can incur all the expense and all the work, or they can let us incur some of the cost and do all of the work.

Do we have to pay for consultation?
You'll never be asked to pay for consultation. Any costs to you are only after you agree to have us help you prepare your proposal.

Even though DKA is based in Florida, can we still work together?
Sure! We've helped companies from all over the U.S. win dozens of government contracts from our offices in Florida.

    How does DKA get paid?
We come up with a projected budget of what it will cost to do everything we can to help our client win a contract. The budget includes, but is not limited to, the following:

  • Research beginning on the day we learn about the opportunity
  • Developing a relationship with a contractor to pursue the specific opportunity
  • Obtaining all requisite information from our client
  • Preparing the written and costing volumes
  • Sending the volumes to the client for approval or changes
  • Preparing and submitting the final, approved proposal to the government, as well as     a copy to our client
  • Going through the rounds of evaluation (submitting CR's/Dr's, BAFO, etc.) up to     award of the contract

This can be as short as a couple of weeks or as long as a year or more. Once we have a projected budget (for example, we'll just say $3,000--sometimes it's more, sometimes it's less or a lot less), we ask our client to cover a portion equal to half of that budget (in this example, our client's total up-front cost would be $1,500). The client's portion is split into two equal payments ($750 each). The first payment (of $750) is due upon reaching an agreement to work together. The second payment (of $750) is due after you've approved the final proposal (both written and costing portions), and it's been received on time by the government and is being evaluated for award.

If you're awarded the contract, our post award support services will be provided to you throughout the life of the contract to ensure that it's running, not only as smoothly and as profitably as possible, but also as high a revenue level as possible. In return, we will be paid an agreed-upon amount every month after you receive your payments from the government. Primarily these services entail preparing proposals for modification to the contract. These modifications (mods) will be associated with the annual changes to the Department of Labor wages, as well as changes to the requirements of the contract. Contracts generally have many of these mods over their duration, and preparing proposals for them is one of the things we do here every day.

Who decides on the prices we bid in our proposals?
We can offer advice and research on the pricing for most industries, but the ultimate decision of what prices you will propose is up to you.
