What exactly is a GSA Schedule?
A GSA Schedule (also sometimes called the "Federal Supply Schedule" or "Multiple Award Schedule") creates a long term government-wide contract with commercial companies to provide all government buying agencies and consumers access to their products and services. Annual purchases through the various Schedule Contracts currently in place are expected to exceed $35 Billion.
How GSA Schedules benefit Government Buyers
- GSA Schedules provide federal buyers with the products, services, and programs to meet their supply, service, procurement, vehicle purchasing and leasing, travel and transportation, and personal property management requirements.
- Using the GSA Schedules, hundreds of thousands of federal agency customers have access to over 10 million commercial products and services from more than 9,000 commercial vendors and contractors, that can be ordered directly from GSA Schedule contractors or through the GSA Advantage!® online shopping and ordering system.
How would your company benefit from receiving a GSA Schedule Contract?
- A growing percentage of government purchases are being made exclusively through GSA Schedules. Simply put: if your company is not on the right Schedule, you will not be eligible for any of these contracts.
- Your company’s products and services will be made available for purchase to all governmental buying agencies through your listing on the appropriate schedule
- When an individual order is issued through the use of the Schedule, your competition is significantly reduced due to prices having been negotiated as fair and reasonable at the time of contract award
- When federal contracting offices issue requests for quotes through a competitive solicitation from Schedule Contract holders, you can be assured that you will only be competing with companies that have achieved the same government approved vendors’ status as you
- State and local governmental agencies now have the authority to purchase directly from the Information Technology GSA Schedule (IT70), with many other schedules expected to be added in the future
Why should your company be on the Schedule?
- The better question would be, "Why is your company not on the Schedule?"
- The government likely already purchases your products and services, but they can't purchase from you if you are not on the Schedule
- The reality is: your competition is already selling their products and services on the Schedule
